Dr. Tanya Markis-Meyer holds a Bachelor of Sciences Degree in Biological Sciences from Sacramento State University and her Doctor of Optometry Degree from the Southern California College of Optometry. She was a key member of a Sacramento private practice for ten years prior to residing in Nevada County. She is the Associate Optometry Director at one of the largest vision insurance companies in the nation, where she assists in the development of quality care guidelines for optometrists and their patients. She is also a member of the American Optometric Association, the Sacramento Valley Optometric Society, the Grass Valley/Nevada County Chamber of Commerce, the California Optometric Association, and the Soroptimist International of the Sierra Foothills. Some of you may have met her before when she was an associate of Dr. Brian McPartland from 1997-2000 here in Grass Valley.

With our optical lab on site, many of our glasses are made right here on the premises. Mike makes sure they meet our high standards. He also verifies that the lenses handled by outside laboratories are made to specification. He will often dispense glasses to patients, and repair and adjust frames. Mike is also our most qualified optometric technician, administering visual field and OCT diagnostic tests. After years in the operating room as a surgical technician, Mike brings meticulous accuracy to his work in the office.

Adrienne has been with Grass Valley Eyecare for many, many years beginning with front desk, insurance, and optician in 1994. She now works on the insurance desk part time as she "retired" in 2014. Adrienne feels it is a joy to work with Drs. Tanya and Stephanie, manager Mike, and the great staff. When not at GVEC, she enjoys cooking, reading, and classic movies.
