Dr. Tanya Markis-Meyer
Dr. Tanya Markis-Meyer holds a Bachelor of Sciences Degree in Biological
Sciences from Sacramento State University and her Doctor of Optometry Degree
from the Southern California College of Optometry. She has been a key member
of a Sacramento private practice for ten years prior to residing in Nevada
County. She is the Associate Optometry Director at one of the largest vision
insurance companies in the nation as well where she assists in the development
of quality care guidelines for optometrists and their patients. Dr. Markis-Meyer
is also licensed in the treatment and management of ocular disease, including
glaucoma. Some of you may have met her before when she was an associate
of Dr. Brian McPartland from 1997-2000 here in Grass Valley.
She is also a member of the American Optometric Association, the Sacramento
Valley Optometric Society, the Grass Valley/Nevada County Chamber of Commerce,
the California Optometric Association, and the Soroptimist International
of the Sierra Foothills.
Dr. Diana Holcomb
Dr. Diana Holcomb has an extensive background in eye care. She spent three years as a Naval Officer at the Submarine Naval Hospital in Connecticut and worked closely with an ophthalmologist in providing comprehensive care to the submariners, their families, and retired military servicemen. She fit submarine officers with fine tuned contact lenses for their periscopes and provided on-call emergency room consultations.
Dr. Holcomb has been an adjunct professor at the New England College
of Optometry, the Illinois College of Optometry, and the Naval Undersea
Medical Institute.
Dr. Holcomb holds a Doctor of Optometry degree and a Bachelor of Science
in Visual Science from the Southern California College of Optometry.
She is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Sacramento
Valley Optometric Society, the Grass Valley/Nevada County Chamber of Commerce,
Soroptimist International of Grass Valley, and the Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric
Honor Society.
Dr.
Casey Shoop
Dr. Casey Shoop joins us as a graduate of UC Berkley School of Optometry.
Her understudy work is in mathematics at Westminter College in Salt Lake
City UT.
She moved to California in pursuit of her master’s degree at Humbolt
State University where she began working for an optometry office. She
became a certified optician and a doctor’s assistant where she learned
the intricate workings of the business aspect of optometry.
Dr. Shoop is licensed in the treatment and management of ocular diseases
including glaucoma and has worked closely with an ophthalmology practice
as well helping to co-manage cataract surgeries, pterygium and blepharoplasty
and aid with wound care revisions. She is practiced in OCT technology
to aid in diagnosing diseases of the macula and optic nerve.
All of our doctors are certified co-managing optometrists with the Laser
Eye Center in Sacramento and examiners for the National Board of Optometry
Examination.
Our doctors continue to expand their knowledge by taking continuing
education courses, to ensure you that we can provide the newest treatments

Adrienne—Billing
Manager
Adrienne has been with the office for over 10 years. She was
trained by the former owner of Grass Valley Eye Care, Dr.
Brian McPartland. Adrienne has a background in sales and banking.
She and her husband Bob have been residents of Grass Valley
for over 20 years. Adrienne can assist you with your frame
decision and answer any questions about your eye insurance.
Dawn—CPO/Office
Manager
Dawn brings years of experience in accounting, finance, marketing,
merchandising, patient relations and management to our office. She
is available to assist you with repairs, dispensing glasses
and contact lenses, frame selecting, and processing orders. Allowing
her creative side to shine, Dawn chooses only the most stylish
frames for our office. Lines such as Fendi, Jones New York,
Lucky Brand, Fossil and the fun eye-catching Lipstick Brand
are just a few designers we carry and styles are rotated consistently
to keep choices fresh and new.
Oliver—ABOC/Opticians
Oliver is board certified opticians.He has 12 years
experience in the optical field. He also holds NCLE certifications
and the State of California Optician's license.
He is specialists in lens design and can answer all of your
questions about new lens technologies like progressive/no-line
multifocals or Transitions lenses, and assist you in making
that all important frame decision.
Tammie—Patient Services
Tammie has a background concentrated in customer service,
record management and control as well as computers and accounting.
Whether it is scheduling your next appointment, insurance
questions or general inquiries about office procedures, she
will guide you regarding all of your eye care needs.
Cynthia—Optical
Technician
Cynthia brings years of experience in the optical field to
our office aiding in pretesting, patient coordination, dispensing
glasses and frame selection.
Mike—Lab Technician / Quality Control With our optical lab on site, many of our glasses are
made right here on the premises. Mike makes sure they meet
our high standards. He also checks orders that are handled
by outside laboratories to verify they too meet all specifications
as well as ordering of the lenses. He aides in repairs and
making sure all orders for glasses are handled properly and
efficiently.
Amber
and Nadya—ABOC/Optometric Technicians
Amber has been with us since 2005 and Nadya since 2008. Both
are certified optitcians and are highly experienced in performing
preliminary testing for your eye exam. They can also assist
you in choosing evewear that fits your needs, provide repairs
or adjustments on your glasses and may also dispense your
glasses or contacts lens when they are ready. (back
